Why LEGO® works
LEGO® bricks are a fantastic tool for team building activities, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute. Collaborating on challenges using LEGO® bricks encourages teamwork, communication, and creativity, breaking down barriers and fostering camaraderie.
The enjoyment of constructing and problem-solving together amplifies engagement and interaction, making it a highly effective tool for team cohesion. Moreover, LEGO's widespread popularity ensures that participants feel comfortable and confident, as they navigate through challenges and celebrate shared achievements, forging stronger bonds within the team.
It's clean and safe and unlike cookery courses or cocktail workshops, means there's no dietary requirements to consider.
I come to you
Choose the time of day that best suits the rest of your agenda. Start of the day works best to get people energised, while towards the end of the day means more unwinding and socialising in the challenges. Or perhaps you're looking for something to do in the post lunch lull?
Case study: Professional services firm
A London-based professional services firm were looking for a fun, creative activity to do at the end of an open day for their clients and guests.
I worked with the event organiser on a 60 minute workshop divided into two halves with a break for food and drink in the middle.
We began with a quick warm up exercise to get everyone comfortable and familiar with using LEGO bricks again.
Then as teams the group tackled challenges including 'build a London icon' (the firm is headquartered in central London).
The event allowed some genuine and personal connections to form between the firm's lawyers and account managers, and their highly-valued clients. This resulted in a closer working relationship going forward for the firm.
More LEGO® things...
During the UK's second Lockdown in early 2021, I made the 1500 year old Sutton Hoo Helmet out of LEGO bricks and submitted it to LEGO Ideas.
A career in marketing and comms means I know how to write an effective press release. This, coupled with the media's need for 'good news' lockdown stories, saw me achieve extensive tier 1 media coverage including national newspapers, the BBC and ITV. Find out more at All Things AFOL
